Direct Instruction gets a bad rap, but heres the truth: -Backed by decades of research -Most effective for foundational skills -Especially helps struggling learners Discovery, PBL, Inquiry? Great with guidance But unguided = confusion. Balance matters. #EduTwitter #Teaching

Although it has some flaws and needs further tweakings, EDI is one of the best lesson designs for new content. It's a thing of beauty, art, and science. But it needs a lot of practice and is prone to lethal mutations if the rationale is not understood by teachers.

Brilliant piece of writing. A PowerPoint is not a lesson plan. And a modelling a calculation on a whiteboard is way better than each line appearing on an animated slide.
