There are more than 30,000 unhoused people in the six states whose GOP governors are voluntarily sending National Guard troops to the capital. The daily cost of operating public housing for all 30,000 would be less than one day of the D.C. occupation.

Working with @nickturse at @theintercept, we found the price tag of troops deployed in D.C. is now over a MILLION dollars per day 💰- "more than four times what it would cost to operate affordable housing for D.C.’s entire unhoused population" - NPP researcher @HannaHomestead

This is what Palestinians college students have had to deal with for decades. No matter how hard they try to better their lives, to put their heads down and study and work hard, Israel reminds them that they’ll never be free until Israeli occupation and apartheid is dismantled.

What a distillation of the Trump-Vance-Rubio legacy. Young woman in Michigan says "this is not just a foreign issue, it's our tax dollars being used to commit these war crimes," referring to Venezuela. …Then police arrest her, on camera, for "obstructing" & "failure to obey."

MAGA’s ‘profit over people’ agenda could not be more clear: the MAGA regime will allow billionaire Pentagon contractors to spend public money during the shutdown, but won’t protect food benefits for hungry families, even though they could.

For the second week, Palestinian farmers are being blocked, harassed and arrested as they try to undertake the annual olive harvest on their own lands. Israeli soldier and settler violence in the occupied West Bank has surged since the war on Gaza began in October 2023.

Early voting in the NYC mayoral election begins TODAY. If you're a New Yorker, I urge you to vote for Zohran Mamdani — the only candidate who will stand up to the oligarchy and fight for working people. Listen to his inspiring words from primary night.

Centrists needed a few months post-primary to think up a reason to dismiss Zohran's politics. The best they've got: a poll showing that (gasp) 44% of Americans don't know enough about an NYC mayoral nominee to have an opinion yet. (and he's still doing better than Schumer)

I took a deep dive into Zohran Mamdani’s numbers. I’m not sure if people realize this, but he is actually one of the most *unpopular* Democrats in the country in a way that Harris/Newsom/AOC are not. And it’s not even all that close, per our new poll. https://t.co/bP6PFXrQGq
