If you like bouncing balls explaining how to slow down #coronavirus, my latest story in the @washingtonpost is for you: Why outbreaks like coronavirus spread exponentially, and how to “flatten the curve”

Male infertility is a sign of an underlying problem. Always important to identify the underlying cause, and reverse it wherever possible to restore natural fertility wherever possible, rather than just overcome it with IVF/ICSI as the default management

50% of infertility has a male component. The CDC has classified infertility as a disease. Most men want to get checked... but insurance may not cover and that’s a problem.

Cecilia Sjoblom from Westmead Fertility Clinic advocates for more IVF (which has the natural selection barrier for sperm) as opposed to the highly implemented ICSI (whereby the sperm is picked up and injected into the egg). IVF has better fertilisation outcomes across age ranges!

Jess Walters’ #ARU2019 talk is an excellent example of the diverse applications of repro research 🔬 She has previously shown ALOX15 inhibition protects 👨🏽 and 🐭 sperm from oxidative stress 👉 she has now found it may also cryoprotect 🐴 sperm
