She interestingly found that mutant dynein with normal human TDP-43 showed no mislocalisation of the protein, but did show aggregation of TDP-43 in the spinal motor neurons, along with p62 upregulation. These findings provide new insights between dynein and TDP-43.

In work done by @EleniVChristof as part of her PhD, she investigated whether mice with mutations in both TDP-43 and dynein would cause TDP-43 cytoplasmic mislocalisation and protein aggregation, which although is a key ALS pathology, is not observed in most TDP-43 mouse models.
