Hackney has received £20 million to redesign Amhurst Road and Pembury Junction. It will look nicer than it does now. The bus gate on Amhurst Road is welcome and ambitious. Sadly, the rest of the choices prioritise aesthetic over safety, mixing cyclists with buses.

December. London. 8.30am (ish) Cyclists as far as the eye can see. Provide safe, accessible routes (segregated cycling lanes, low traffic neighbourhoods) and people will cycle; whatever the season. ☀️⛅️🌧️❄️

We have sought some explanation for the treatment (or lack of treatment) of Lavender Grove from the council, but haven't had an answer, so have to assume it's an oversight. See our website for more detail on the plans:
