Last week a new pilot high speed freight service with trains operating up to 350kph began between Guangzhou and Wuhan. High speed freight services have been running in a trial basis across China with services between Kunming-Chengdu, Zhengzhou-Chongqing, Nanchang-Shenzhen etc.
CRH2A-4020 was damaged in a mudslide accident in 2022 with 2 cars scrapped. In 2023 the surviving 6 HST cars were retrofitted for freight and 2 experimental purpose built freight cars was built as replacements. The new 8 car highspeed freight train started appearing in 2024...
