Nuclear is not a 'green' energy source.
Giving dangerous
#NuclearEnergy
a green label in the EU taxonomy will make the waste problem worse and actively divert investments away from real solutions like energy savings, energy storage and renewables.
#COP26
@Greenpeace
Besides its intractable hazardous waste disposal problem - nuclear power plants invite terrorism - the last thing that France needs. Safe energy storage in a system where energy from the splits water into oxygen and hydrogen gas wouldn't need batteries.
@Greenpeace
@Greenpeace
please know the difference of what you're talking about!
So you're okay to utilise the big nuclear reactor up in the sky, but not what is alrrady available here on Earth? What a BS thing to say.
@Greenpeace
Is the world going to be destroyed by climate change and therefore we must make very tough decisions, or isn't it? If the former, nuclear is a better option by orders of magnitude than attempting to return to a low energy economy requiring huge suffering and control to implement.
@Greenpeace
Shameful - get your facts straight! The consequences of the world staying dependent on fossil fuels due to need for stable energy supply 365/24/7 is devastating for peoples health & our climate. The Only stable, clean and safe alternative is nuclear. GP knows better- shameful
@Greenpeace
Campaigning against nuclear power prevents you from being taken seriously regarding climate change. It makes it seem that you don't really consider it (climate change) to be that big of a deal, at least not urgent enough to make you rationally asses solutions.
@Greenpeace
Yes, it is. This kind of puritanical nonsense is so damaging it makes me think you guys *want* climate change to happen. And to think I used to donate to you lol.
@Greenpeace
I so totally agree, it is in the same breath as plastic! How can they justify the pollution will need places to store the waste product! 😠🆘🌍🌎🌏🆘
@Greenpeace
Had Greenpeace supported nuclear years ago, the world would be in a far better position today. Instead their approach to defining ‘green’, combined with a poor understanding of the complexity in transitioning industry has resulted in destruction to the environment.
@Greenpeace
I was such a huge believer in your organization as a kid.
I cannot even express in words how disappointing and short sighted this stance is as we stand on the precipice of global climate collapse.
Do better.
