This. Ask & ask again: 'are you ok? Are you sure there's nothing I can help with?' Talk to me.' And use words suicide & self harm. As one who knows, it WILL NOT put ideas in heads but will open much needed conversations around things they're already thinking of.
That feeling of what Graham was going through has crossed many people’s own lives… I can’t talk for everyone else but for myself - I can say though, talking about how you are feeling, knowing there is help… it can save lives. It saved mine… keep talking. DMs always open.

A vital and deeply distressing expose by the BBC of abused disabled pupils. But it should not take an undercover journalist to protect them. Every abuser should be jailed - and everyone who failed to safeguard these children must be held accountable too.
