Learning Disability Awareness Week, lots of positives flying around and talk of changing attitudes but not a lot of substance IMO. So, what can you, as a professional in non specialist services learn/do? A thread.🧵

I am therefore going to step back from this account (which I kind of have been doing recently anyway). I will not deactivate it because there are gems on here worth reading. If you want to stay in touch I'll be on Instagram, Facebook and if you like dogs, Tik tok. 3/

Engagement levels are so low which makes spending time curating anything of significance to try and create an impact a waste of time. A change to algorithms has all but killed the experience. 2/

Twitter is the platform I've built my career from, but it's been getting harder and harder to justify spending time curating posts, you may have noted I've posted little of note in the last year or so. 1/

Just a few weeks to go until I dip my feet into the muddy waters of Physio again. For a few days at least. I’ll be speaking both days, and one more session than @theLDphysio got. Seems right to me 👍 https://t.co/nk0U7lxVi5

"Whilst on placement I'm now less afraid to get things wrong. Now, I am trying different approaches and finding many of these work better. I wouldn't have been confident to try these at the beginning of placement" A reflection from a student at the end of week 4

@1985Deanne Exactly. It alleviates responsibility from all professionals working within the education system. This is why so many children with SEND are failed. Because they are perceived as someone else’s responsibility.
