For my undergrad class on the #GreatLakes, we talked about the potential power of social media to raise awareness about environmental issues, and I offered a little extra credit to students for posting course content to social media. Here's an example... great job, Zach!
Each summer, parts of Lake Erie and other Great Lakes turn a shocking shade of green — not from plants, but from harmful algal blooms. Warmer water gives algae the perfect environment to thrive. We must protect 20% of the world’s surface freshwater drinking water for millions.
