The most evil part here is that part of the $12 service fee is because Uber and DoorDash opposed a regulation which requires them to pay drivers a minimum wage.
$30 in fees just to get delivery in NYC. That feels unsustainable.

Another downside of VC, operating at a loss, and selling data: we’ve cooked people’s expectations where we now demand everything for free. I’m all for free content, but how do you absorb operating costs? There has to be better alternatives than ads and privacy violations.

A lot of political speech is these types of perlocutionary speech-acts. You say it not for the truth value of the statement itself, but in order to achieve some sort of second order effect.
