Orwellian is to pretend that if party 1 said no to statehood offers from party 2 on disputed land conquered from 3rd and 4th parties, then at that point party 2 is obliged to annex and give citizenship to all party 1s, otherwise the tweet below will happen.
This language is so common that we forget how Orwellian it is. Self-determination is determination of the self, not others. When you deny millions of people citizenship in the land of their birth because they're the wrong religion, that's not self-determination. It's apartheid.
