Michael Wear gets this just right: “It is not just the act of violence but the spirit of violence that must be opposed. It is not just the action to harm another which must be opposed ...

Following Laura Loomer’s lead, the US is repeating an egregious Holocaust-era mistake

Laura Loomer may have persuaded the Trump team to pause medical-humanitarian visas for children from Gaza — future generations will weep.

Exactly right. It's like in financial investments they like to say that past performance is not indicative of future results. We all hoped the offense would advance to the mean. It hasn't. And baseball is a game of adjustments. The Rangers just don't seem to learn as they go.

Respectfully, as a pastor-theologian, using Isaiah 6:8 in this context is blasphemy! Delete this immediately. This is an abuse of Bible.

Terrible development. Epistemic humility should give pause to claiming alignment of spiritual values with political parties. Endorsing candidates leads inevitably to defending them when they inevitably go astray, thus losing moral voice to hold them accountable. Don’t do it.
NEW TONIGHT: @IRS says that churches can now endorse candidates from the pulpit, carving out an exemption to a decades-old ban on politicking by tax-exempt nonprofits. https://t.co/kpTbcBzfMl

All good. And thanks especially for your story on Pride or rather the lack thereof. 🏳️🌈

This sandwich reminds me of my favorite line in @Evan_P_Grant piece on Mahle’s good outing. Compared it a common condiment. Just added mayo, no need to spice it up to aioli. Making baseball reporting fun to read. Nice word work there, Evan.

So the position of the Trump-Vance administration — and every member of Congress unless they explicitly say otherwise — is quite literally you do not have guaranteed free speech rights in America if you say things they don't like. That is the headline.

Serious question. Is there actually any evidence that Mahmoud Khalil is a "Hamas supporter" or is Hamas supporter simply a slur used for anyone who supports the Palestinian cause?

"This is our 6th hearing on vouchers in two years. We haven’t had 6 hearings on teacher pay. We haven’t had 6 hearings on student discipline. We haven’t had 6 hearings on student mental health. This isn't about education — it’s about politics." — @jamestalarico #txlege
