It goes without saying flexibility would help, but coaching in schools should be a must for returning parents! The return to work workshop with @mtpt_project was fantastic definitely felt more confident on my return because of it. https://t.co/ZAM35SozJh

More needs to be done to solve this crisis. So many of us are one step away from doing the same. Teaching should be a brilliant career choice for parents, but making it work requires decision makers to be flexible, understanding and to understand the value of PT staff.
We talk a lot about the recruitment crisis in education; about the inability to find enough applicants to fill our ITT courses. But it’s as much a retention crisis as it is anything to do with recruitment. 🧵 (1/5)

At 39 weeks 🤰today I hope the person that stole (luckily) only SOME of our packed things for the hospital from our car enjoys reading my birth plan and hits every red light for the rest of their lives and just for good measure stubs their toe really hard.

Still no signs of baby so going into school today to see our students collect some amazing results, speaking with parents and hanging out with colleagues making classroom displays really made my day! Thanks @DrummondShan ❤️

One of mine and @GeogOnOut very talented students made our department 4 infiltration boxes as a gift this term! Can’t wait to use as part of our W&C topic with A-level. Check out his video! https://t.co/WnohkdVUAR

Because they have plenty of time in their day to do this… 🤨 how out of touch with schools today.
Gillian Keegan said headteachers had a ‘duty’ to get children to school in a TV interview, but heads’ union says comments ‘demonstrate a worrying lack of understanding of how schools operate’ https://t.co/XvLlcnREFH

Looking for some inspiration for an induction lesson with year 12. Thinking some sort of hazard DMA to engage students? What do you do to introduce A level Geog? @fiona_616 @Jennnnnn_x @kate_stockings

Expecting ice breaker activities at my first NCT class but actually getting diagrams of labour, contraction charts and learning I know zero things about adrenaline, oxytocin and endorphins.

I don’t know what is scarier, the fact that atmospheric CO2 just hit the highest level in human history, or that it has gone close to completely unnoticed…
🌍 🏆📈 Atmospheric CO2 just hit the HIGHEST EVER level IN HUMAN HISTORY at Mauna Loa 🏆😰 423.01 ppm on Apr 6 2023 😰🏆 Up 3.84 ppm from 419.17 one year ago 😰 @NOAA live data: https://t.co/nu6ktMn2wU 🌍 Track https://t.co/DpFGQoYEwb records @ https://t.co/IpMERInEv0 🌍

Reality of me striking on Wednesday / Thursday is doing more unpaid labour. KS4/5 mocks & Easter data drop on Friday. This is why strikes are important. Expectations are unrealistic, result in burn out and impact recruitment & retention. #teacherstrike

Very proud to work with Nic, she deserves so much of the credit. What she has done for Holocaust remembrance is remarkable. Well done and thank you to all involved. @RWBAHolocaust

Is it any wonder Meghan Markle is scared? It’s terrifying knowing there are men out there like Jeremy Clarkson who will openly admit to sitting up at night fantasising about violence against women - and think it’s perfectly acceptable. It’s not. And something needs to be done.

Our members tell us they are struggling with energy costs and childcare and many are now worried about mortgage payments and how they will cover the rent. Government must act now. The @NEUnion is demanding a fully funded pay rise. Post your vote now. #SupportStaffDeserveBetter
