Used a snowblower rather than a shovel to clear out the driveway for the first time this year. Lot more convenient, but this is also the year I’ve cut my running mileage back for time/convenience sake. And occasionally take the elevator at work, for convenience sake.

Has anyone here ever tried steroids directly injected through a pericardial drain for pericarditis?

Did an emergent ostial LMCA with shockwave and Impella support last night (pt in shock and surgeon tied up with dissection anyway). Impella hemodynamic waveform disappeared with the first shockwave pulse (part of shockwave was in aorta). Has this happened to anyone else?

Important message. Well put. No matter how awesome a physician you are, you will have pts that don’t click with you and will bond with someone else closer to their bkgrnd and identity. It’s important for us as a profession to be able to reach everyone how they need to be reached.
A great message from @SrihariNaiduMD to potential future physicians in the field of #InterventionalCardiology attending our Ready to Launch Program on increasing diversity in their IC workforce. #SCAI2023 #DEI

Does anyone have good experience with LV unloading via atrial septostomy rather than Impella or IABP? Reading the literature and am curious about pitfalls.

So I used to hate Sat night on weekend cardiology rounding duties. But the addition of good speakers and kicking up the volume on Dinosaur Jr and Pavement has made reading stress tests and echos…a highlight of the weekend?!

Here’s a situation many of us have seen in the ICU or ED: “It looked like there was ST elevation on the monitor but when I took a 12 lead it was gone?!” A STEMI went MIA? Here’s a #tweetorial all about why ST segments look different on monitors. #FOAMed #FOAMcc 1/

This new study suggests that TAVI can effectively reduce mitral regurgitation severity and symptoms in patients with atrial and ventricular functional mitral regurgitation, but the reduction is less pronounced in patients with primary mitral regurgitation. https://t.co/wzHPp5CiME

Another trick to help cross a bioprosthesis during TAVR: Use a deflection balloon/buddy wire and bump into the Evolut FX system. A 10mm Mustang can be placed through the standard 6Fr sheath. @MCGCardFellows
