The R2 looks amazing. Hoping to check it out at some point. If the debate is between R2 and the Model Y (which are barely in the same segment,) I'd go with the one that's actually available.

Yes, the newly released Model Y is more expensive than the base model was before the $7,500 tax credit expired, but of course it is. I've been trying to explain that there simply wasn't enough bits to remove in order to reduce the COGS by $7,500.

I didn't see any of those videos, but I'm with AJ on this one. If your favorite analyst was telling you the new Y would cost under $30k, their grasp of manufacturing and business likely doesn't warrant your attention.

Different strokes for different folks, right? Some people want a smaller Cybertruck to do what a larger one can do. I say it's not the size of the wave but the motion of the ocean, and a much shallower stroke would be more than enough to keep me happy on a day to day basis.

I think this question was wrong. People aren't going to buy the new, more affordable model because it's available. They're going to buy it because they didn't nee a car last quarter, they need a car today, and it's the best deal on the market. What would you say to them?
Are you considering ordering the "more affordable" Model Y tomorrow if the "price is right?"

I can't wait to see "unsupervised summon" which I'm sure is right around the corner. "Meet me at the curb," and it's just there. No staring at the screen and worrying it will get hung up, it just shows up and you leave. Done and done.
@FutureAZA @a_i_set It will be a big time saver when we can summon from within a building and have the car beat us to the door.

I've yet to hear any "smaller cybertruck" or "Robovan" rumors, apart from that they aren't on the roadmap yet, but I'm confident when Tesla decides those are the right product(s), they'll do swimmingly. We'll all need Robovan once the Boring Tunnel reaches the arenas. Make it

Had some AMAZING hazard avoidance yesterday. Saw a squirrel by the side of the road, maybe he's about to dart, maybe not, not sure, but the car wandered ALL THE WAY to the center line and slowed by 5mph to mitigate the risk of collision. Couldn't believe it, but there ya go.
@FutureAZA I have already seen it avoid debris. One day there was recycling day but the wind was blowing heavy. I went on a particular Street, boxes were scattered all over the place and the car slowly navigated it.

It's a metric/imperial thing. We get about 300 feet, and I think you guys get 300 cm. Classic conversion issue.

Absolutely yes. 💯 A bare bones Model 3 is something Tesla has already made in China for sale in Mexico, and there's no reason they couldn't mirror that model for the US. LFP is back on the menu since the IRA's expired, so the time is right.

The Megapacktory in Lathrop (and Shanghai) make more money sending off shipping containers full of batteries than if the same facility was counterfeiting currency. Even with items that big and conspicuous, we lose track of them. Bots are a lot smaller, and will be everywhere,

People don't get what neural nets are yet. You get it. I get it. They don't. I saw something in Tesla in 2019 others did not, and I went in heavy. I did okay with that estimation. I still see something other analysts do not today, and that's why I haven't sold.

Imagine how much better parking lots will be when summon and banish are perfected. Legacy cars can fight over the (more abundant) close up spots while our cars go space themselves out to prevent door dings. And forget security because we'll ALL have footage. Win win win. And

Obviously. Everyone knows Tesla is just a dancing robot demo company and nothing more. I mean, sure, they USED TO sell cars, but I've been assured by the dumbest people on X that sales have cratered. Just don't show them the Q3 numbers. They'd be very upset if they could read.
