More proof that the MHSAA needs a competitive balance plan with greater sophistication than simply matching schools of similar enrollments. Unity Christian should be playing teams like Saline or Byron Center in the D1 tourney instead of stealing a 🏆 from Huron. #ClubVsCommunity

Of the 324 girls ⚽️ teams classified as D2, D3 or D4 by the MHSAA, only 64 of them (19%) represent private schools. But of the 6 schools competing for state titles in those divisions this weekend, 5 of them (83%) are private. 🤷.#ClubVsCommunity

Maybe this is the way to go! It doesn't solve our current issue where we have IndyCar (private) racing against NASCAR (traditional public), so to speak. But it would turn educational athletics into the "Wild West" and magnify the need for separate state tournaments. 😳.
In Indiana, according to the IHSAA, beginning June 1 this year, students with six semesters of high school schooling or less can transfer once and be granted full eligibility for any reason, even if its because of sports. Can’t wait until Michigan does this in 20 years!!.

The talking point that private school advantages are more prevalent at the D3 & D4 levels is worthy of investigation. The numbers don't lie! Imagine if those 8 schools on the right had to play up at a division this spring? 😳 Sure would level the playing field. #ClubVsCommunity
