This is incredibly rare, while car accidents killed almost 40,000 Americans in 2024, nearly double *all* the 23,000 homicides reported in 2023, virtually none of which occur on public transit between strangers. But we just don’t care about vehicle deaths

I was perfectly ready to let Chicago languish, one of the many to laugh and call it "Chiraq" and dismiss it entirely. But having actually visited, I really want that city's crime problems fixed asap because it is a very cool place.

It’s not capricious. You seem to think that it is for some bizarre reason. They were in violation of the law and they knew it. Other investors have no reason to fear as long as they don’t violate immigration law.
This might be the single most destructive thing you could do to the future of American manufacturing. What company or country will ever invest here again? Genuinely I think it would be *less* destructive if they fired a bunch of Patriot missiles into Ford auto plants.

@RachelWeissman9 @FrenlyOfficer I'm not aware of any problem of Americans smuggling drugs or other contraband into either country via small boats. OTOH, there's absolutely a problem of South/Central American countries doing this to the US. If it looks like a duck, I'm inclined to believe it's a duck.
