Yeah man, Kubrick basically just dropped the camera in a hallway lmao. Cinematography BTFO'd... As long as we ignore symmetry, colour, depth, mood, negative space, contrast, lighting, tone, focus, leading lines, composition, framing, balance, background/foreground and all that
This is why I can’t take cinematography seriously. How is this dude getting glazed for the revolutionary idea of centering the subject in the frame?

"Trickle-down economics" used to refer to the specific claim that reducing top income tax rates would bring in more revenue than otherwise. This claim is sometimes true, but often false. It's very different from the way it's now used in leftist circles though.

I see the CLC has published the Milei article I wrote. It seems to be missing hyperlinks for the Morning Consult and Giacobbe Consultores opinion polls (the Opina Argentina one is in there), so here are the missing sources: https://t.co/TUS7wYDeCd

En el sondeo, que consultó a 2500 personas, la 'imagen positiva' del mandatario trepó a 42,4%, y curiosamente la de Cristina Kirchner (31%) superó a las de Mauricio Macri (27,7%) y Victoria Villarr...
"The libertarian president has already done much better than his predecessors, especially considering the mess he inherited, and despite the popular lies and distortions suggesting otherwise in the mainstream media." New on the CLC Blog: https://t.co/DnM4jXWVcn

Aside from the mischaracterization of libertarianism as right wing, this post is correct that allowing people to use their private property as they see fit—including using it to build housing—is a libertarian position rather than a left-wing one. But it fails to recognize that
there is no "left YIMBY-ism" because yimyism is free market libertarianism which is... right wing. yes, its embarrassing to get duped by real estate lobbyists, but I promise you if you join a real tenant struggle you can get your mind back real quick.

Countries don't get rich by stealing rocks. They get rich by making useful stuff.
Nothing illustrates the irrelevance of colonialism compared to modern economic growth more than Spain's estimated GDP per capita over the last 500 years. Ruling vast amounts of the world's surface with access to large amounts of silver doesn't even show up on the graph!

This is a good discussion, even if I disagree with most of it. These criticisms apply only to a narrow view of Austrian insights IMO, but Folly is right to see that many Austrians have this overly-narrow view. (Number 4 is definitely spot on, though.)

Far from the first time this has happened, but seeing stuff from the first Nick Fuentes broadcast where he calls himself a "small l-libertarian" and says Trump needs to drop out due to "borderline racist statements" is really bleak. I know way too many people with his trajectory.

@AnonymousLeftie more left wing politics is the opposite of what Germany needs right now to revive its ailing economy. we need to cut red tape and increase incentives for investment.

He‘s my favorite 80s action movie antagonist.
Clarence Boddicker in RoboCop (1987) is a wildly underrated villain. Kurtwood Smith leaned into real Detroit-gang energy while Verhoeven told him to play it casual, almost bored by violence, which is exactly why Boddicker feels so disturbingly real.

Actually, in case anyone is interested in Hayek’s foreword to "Individualism and the Philosophy of the Social Sciences" here it is:

I feel like people sometimes tend to forget that the Hayek-Rothbard relationship was mostly cordial (save for some disagreements). Hayek even wrote the introduction to Rothbard’s essay "Individualism and the Philosophy of the Social Sciences".
A small and forgotten historical moment. Hayek debates a rothbardian critic of his ideas. The rothbardian is making an excellent point that hayek is engaging in performative contradictions, when he is arguing, but not recognizing argumentation ethics and anarchocapitalism
