Just to reiterate, I am NOT on Facebook. If you come across (or are approached by) a Facebook account pretending to be me, they're an imposter. They should be distrusted and reported.

I will be watching to see that that means a proper library with a librarian, not just a room with books and a teacher with some training who's only covering the library around the rest of their job. The latter is better than nothing but "better than nothing" isn't good enough.
Chancellor @RachelReevesMP is expected to announce later today that the government will commit to delivering a library in every state primary school in England by the end of this parliament:

Happy Petrov Day, everyone!
On this day in 1983, Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Petrov probably saved the planet. Petrov was the officer at the command center for the Oko nuclear early-warning station when the system reported that a missile, followed by another one and then up to five more, were being

ICYMI, another fake me appeared on Facebook/Meta last week. Oddly, they have now removed all their posts (which had been photos of me & my books). They're linking to my website, so still pretending to be me. https://t.co/GovxhgTxg9 If folks could report them, that would be great.

It's looking difficult to report this as a 'fake profile', since the report form demands that one enter the real Facebook account of the person being impersonated, and I'm not on Facebook. But it does seem to be possible to report it for 'scam, fraud or false information'.

Sigh. Another fraudster Facebook account pretending to me. I think this is the sixth. To reiterate, I am NOT on Facebook. If people would be kind enough to report this scam artist, that would be much appreciated. https://t.co/p5opFF8ozM

Went to @NationalGallery's brilliant #TriumphOfArt party in Trafalgar Square today. Dancing stones, strongfolk, excellent live acts, DIY printing on clothing, hands-on eco-building, a giant robot DJ, a live-posed Adam & Eve, etc. Also I may have danced with the Green Man...

I hate editing so much I will literally do anything before editing. Today I've cleaned the whole house, rearranged my office (even though we move in a month) and made my own hummus from scratch. I guess I better get back to work now...

Last night, the House of Lords defeated the Government for a fourth time by passing an amendment establishing meaningful transparency measures for the use of rightsholders’ works in AI systems, many of which are being used without recognition, permission or remuneration. (1/3)

How to write a book: Prepare the paper until smooth. Mask up the margins. Next, apply a primer chapter outline. Now add a first draft of words. Let it dry and then keep carefully adding layers, filling any plot holes as you go until the story has a clear, consistent finish.
