H3N2 Genotype J.2.4.1 does look to have fair few antigenic mutations, & 5-weeks-early start to flu season in both UK & Japan suggests mutations do have significant real-world impact. This is majority sub-clade in UK. (shortly to become K-something with next mutational steps...)
@Nucleocapsoid @CVRHutchinson @JosetteSchoenma @SolidEvidence In terms of HA (H3 numbering): T135K; S144N (potential new glycosylation site); N158D; I160K; A186D are indicating antigenic drift [one I find a proper template; will update a searchable spreadsheet of H3N2 mutations]
