Workers' rights are under attack from big business & the UK Gov't. They've opposed my previous Bills to ban #FireAndRehire. If unwilling to act it's time they transferred powers on employment law to a Scottish Parliament & Gov't committed to workers' rights across the board. 2/2

News broke y'day that @pandocruises threatened 900 workers with #FireAndRehire Today, they backed down from that threat. I'm pleased they've seen sense & remembered their advert distancing themselves from @POferries disgrace. Workers shouldn't have to face bullying threats 1/2

Nothing should surprise me following British Airways & British Gas threatening staff with #FireAndRehire, but now the BBC seem to be at it as well! That these institutions of British life feel able to treat staff like this says it all about modern Britain We need out. #indyref2
Almost ALL staff on BBC Local Radio have been placed at risk of redundancy today. Many may be moved to new roles. ALL presenter roles are closing. Presenters will have to re-apply for new on air jobs. I think it would be fair to say we are stunned and upset here.

Tories blocking this bill to end fire-and-rehire is no surprise. It's time now for @GavNewlandsSNP's bill to immediately devolve employment law to the Scottish Parliament. If Westminster won't act, let Holyrood.

The tories have, in effect, shamefully voted down the #FireandRehire Bill. Enough is enough. If the UK won't act to protect workers, they must devolve employment law to Holyrood now & let a Scottish Govโt committed to banning fire & rehire boost employment rights across the board

Good to finally be able to debate and vote on #FireandRehire after a year of trying to force the UK Government to act. My own efforts ran out of time, but I'll be backing @BarryGardiner's Bill to give workers the protections they deserve. #EndFireAndRehire
