Only 56% of people understand that most scientists agree the globe is warming. In actuality virtually every scientist believes the climate is warming. Even most climate deniers understand that simple fact. Deniers just aren’t willing to admit humans are the cause. They are wrong.
According to a new survey by @YaleClimateComm, a majority of people in 17 US states don't believe there's scientific consensus that climate change is happening.

“Banks use your deposits to make loans to carbon-intensive industries. $1,000 in your account creates emissions equal to a flight from NYC to Seattle.” This is wild, and it shows the @billmckibben was right: divestment matters. Read more:

"Claiming that COP28 was somehow not a failure, clinging to bits of false hope, generates a powerful illusion that business as usual can continue. We've been doing this for 30 years now." My latest article: https://t.co/DnBiSn0TVS

What humanity and the Earth need is determined, coordinated action to end fossil fuels, and the useless words from COP28 will only serve to delay that action.

Phasing out fossil fuels is a bare minimum. We need drastic immediate emission cuts and binding commitments from the largest contributors of the climate crisis to finance loss and damages, adaptation and a just transition in the most affected areas. 2/3
