Far too many equate King’s legacy *only* with his speech in 1963, but do they truly hear him? When you think of the 1963 March on Washington for economic and civil justice compared to the Jan. 6th attack on the Capitol for a singular narcissistic man — it’s a stark difference.

TRUTH!

Let's talk about unity. It’s not an empty talking point. It has to mean something. We must be united against attacks on our democracy. United against those who violate their oaths. United against a president who incites a violent mob to overturn an election. That's unity.

It does not matter if a president incites a riot against Congress on their first day or their last. These calls for unity mean nothing without accountability. This president is a clear and present danger to our country. He must be impeached and removed from office.

I didn’t come to Congress to impeach the president, but he has left us no other choice. Today’s vote isn’t about party, it’s about protecting our democracy.
