I saw that comment and just laughed. This is why I keep begging people to always do their research. According to upwork, the two criteria for getting the rising talent badge are having a 100% complete profile and no account hold in the last 90 days. You don’t need any job review.
Someone came on X today to say “you can’t get a rising talent badge without doing work or getting ratings first”. Well… Chiamaka @itsjustchiamaka told me to use her profile to prove that you can be given the Rising Talent badge at Upwork’s discretion even with 0 work history👇🏾

I got a contract last month on upwork for a $300 design. I delivered the job to the client. I billed my hours and the client refused to pay me up till now. She added a card which had insufficient balance. I wrote to upwork support and they said they cannot do anything about it.
Even with Contract signed, you could still be scammed by foreign clients as a freelancer.
