17/ This is a mindset we see weaponized in theocracies such as Iran, Putin's Russia, the Arab world as well as much of America today. As a Jew, I've been exposed to it among certain relatives that joined extreme sects. It's not just religious fundamentalists though.

7/ That rather joyless mindset co-exists with a portrayal of women as sex objects in popular entertainment. Hence the shy nerdy 20 year old lad I was on that beach had been conditioned by my country's culture of guilt and shame about sex as well as pictures of Farrah Fawcett.
