Great explanation. Devil is in the detail, The Times are misleading the public with the numbers as always.
[1/16] Deeply flawed and completely misleading modelling from Medifintech’s own @gdcuk Graham Crossley at @Quilter. Here's why the £125k pension headline is erroneous, misleading, and deeply flawed 👇

Doctors are striking because we’re facing a real terms pay cut, Government imposed training caps that block thousands from becoming Consultants/GPs, and rising doctor unemployment. Wes Streeting used to support us; then he came into power. #payrestoration #endtrainingcrisis

📣 Five days of strike action in England starts today. These strikes could have been averted, if @Wesstreeting had a credible pay and jobs offer for us to consider. 🪧 See you on the picket lines: https://t.co/kgv2UvWoo3

Stunning turnout from @BMANorthernRDC resident doctors (despite the rain!) at the RVI in Newcastle! ✊🧡 Clear message from our members to government - solve the jobs crisis and stop eroding our pay. @TheBMA @BMAResidents

This is what @wesstreeting is offering resident doctors. Patients need doctors, and our health secretary refuses to train them. It’s no wonder 70,000 doctors are going on strike starting 7am 14th November. #doctorsstrike

Resident doctors begin striking tomorrow. There'll be regional and local pickets between 14-19 November, across England. If you're planning on picketing or showing solidarity at a picket line, make sure you've read our guidance: https://t.co/agw1VE7Zo2

I'll be there on the picket line in Bristol. We're striking because we reached an impasse on pay and trining jobs, the most recent offer does not go far enough. An extra 2000 jobs when we have 20,000 doctors not getting into training shows it isn't a serious offer.
Bristol Royal Infirmary Picket! 🗓 When: Friday 14th Nov, 9:00–11:30am 📍 Where: Main Entrance, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Marlborough St, BS2 8HW Be there on time! Heavy media presence is expected. Let’s show a united front!

A disaster for the government - its one NHS sucess had been to stop RD dispute, but it now looks like its back with a vengenance
🚨 Strike action confirmed 🚨 Resident doctors in England will walk out 7am, 14–19 Nov. We don’t take this step lightly but pay restoration and jobs can’t wait. 🔗 https://t.co/x6dUubNcEn

Most Resident Doctors are concerned about not being unemployed and excess competition from Doctors who are already secure in employment abroad UK Graduate Prioritisation across the board, expansion of training places and a reasonable pay offer could put this to bed quickly

No movement on pay despite months of talking. No fix to doctor unemployment despite rising patient demand. No substantial recognition of 2 successful strike ballots from the government. The government must move further and faster to fix both pay and jobs. Doctors on strike.

Solidarity to resident doctors in 🏴, the government offer is piecemeal on jobs and offers nothing substantive on pay. Strikes can still be avoided if the government actually works with RDC instead of dismissing it's proposals out of hand 🪧

Time for @wesstreeting to stop wasting the BMA's time. If these strikes, and a further round in December, go ahead, that's on him. Turning up to rule out any talks on pay isn't negotiation. It's a repeat of the failed tactics of the previous government.

You can’t call it a negotiation when one side refuses to talk about pay. That isn’t dialogue, it’s the government setting terms without listening. We're asking for a multi- year pay deal to take a F1 from 18.5£ an hour to 22.5£ an hour. An extra 4£ an hour.
