Our lab uses innovative methods to study how metastatic melanoma niches change during aging to promote outgrowth and resistance in aged populations and how this may contribute to reactivation from melanoma dormancy.

I began my PhD at the @UQ_News and was extremely lucky to have great mentors who I could never have done this without including my PI Aaron Smith, co PI Richard Sturm, @piperlab_uq, @HaassLab and @Yash_Chhabra.

Lastly, as much as I love working for @AshaniTW, I am currently on the job market looking to start an independent laboratory to continue my research on how aging can reprogram metastatic niches to promote efficient metastatic outgrowth 19/19.

PROS1 is able to act in a paracrine manner to further activate MERTK expression in neighboring cells and promote reactivation from dormancy even when in the previously growth restrictive young lung 15/19.
