@vikramjajuha @cptbhern We've seen time and time that inverting full back joining Caicedo to support Enzo does not work for us and leaves us open. We are a better team when we play two actual DMs, with an overlapping full back for attacking support.

Hate to say I told you so.
Enzo Maresca is empowered by Chelsea’s ownership and sporting directors to rotate. Changes encouraged rather than questioned as part of a season-long plan to compete on four fronts.🔵 https://t.co/gr8yKNC70S

@RubinWeston @LondonsFirst_ @ArchCarts Its funny because Arteta had exact same prob. A rigid 4231 with inverting full back. He learned and adjusted to a 433. They press higher and defend higher than us, but are less narrow, have better pitch coverage and smaller gaps between lines. Maresca is tactically flawed.

Comedy.
@NizaarKinsella We are the best-run team in Europe right now. The future looks good, but our fan base doesn’t want to be patient with the board.

Enough about Maresca. Hes a clown and he'll be gone by 26/27. Is it even an away game in Eastern Europe without a massive 1980s fire engine parked behind the goal and stewards dressed in camo?

Life watching Chelsea under Maresca: - tough game, great performance and result - draw/lose struggling vs bang average low block scramblers at home - chaosball away to plucky minnows Rinse and repeat

Maresca is 100% briefed to rotate. Reports said so last week. The clubs needs all players platformed to sell for book profits to fund more signings. Its literally the model. Its the one aspect of team selection issues that arent on the coach.
@dmacook Yep. And I think he's briefed to rotate, part of his job description. So he does, regardless of whether that's the right to do. Particularly in defence

In "big games" he has shown he can construct very effective tactical plans that produce good performances and big results. Issue is pretty much every other game which is the majority.

Pochettino was sacked for creating a basketball team. Can anyone tell me how Marescas team is any different? So open, so naive.

Unfortunately we have more bad games than good however the owners always seem to think the one good game in 10 is enough demonstrate progress Said it so many times , maresca cannot effectively manage this squad

Ive said it before but how the person who paid 55 million for Gittens still has a job is incredible.

Never a truer word was spoken.
🗣️ Jose Mourinho: "It used to be believed that whoever won the most was the best, but that's no longer the case. Now, whoever creates the most perceptions is the best. There are coaches who try things that don't work and fail, but they say, 'I died with my idea.' If you die

Im genuinely intrigued @NEUnion how the Gov can justify the yearly payrises theyve offered teaching staff if theyre planning to up income tax by 2p. Essentially mean nothing.

The Rice vs Caicedo argument is so forced and pointless. Both brilliant midfielders, as are Gravenberch and Rodri. The real shame is Chelsea didnt buy Rice AND Caicedo.

@Eyedontmind_ The midfield setup and depth should look something like this. A 6, an 8, and an 8/10 to make a three like last night

Chelsea get the good old new manager bounce next week then. Standard.

The midfield becomes a three which gives much more solidity and cover vs counters and better ball progression too.

Yesterdays game once again showed that with two proper 6s, wide full backs and a creative spark at 10 Chelsea are a different team. There is so much evidence of this now, Maresca cannot keep ignoring it. It would be entirely more effective vs low blocks than the invert, too.
