Thrilled to share our review (from my PhD) published in the renowned @BJSM_BMJ. We found that higher levels of muscle strength or cardiorespiratory fitness are associated with a significantly reduced risk of mortality (up to 40%) in cancer patients.@ProfRobNewton @EMRI_ECU

Happy to see this research published. Cardiac autonomic dysfunction is an emerging issue in cancer patients. We highlight how HRV is common in cancer patients due to treatment side effects. Exercise could become a non-pharmacological strategy to modulate autonomic function

Excited to see another piece of our work on how exercise can help fight cancer in EJCP. We found that exercise reduces cancer cell growth. There are several mechanisms involved, and muscles releasing factors seem to be one of the main factors @ProfRobNewton @EdithCowanUni

📜Just published📜. Children who are undergoing cancer treatment or have survived childhood cancer experience a decline in BMD, increasing their risk of developing long-term skeletal complications. There is a growing need for exercise strategies to address these issues.@EMRI_ECU

Exercise, especially combined resistance and aerobic training, can reduce pro-inflammatory biomarkers, and may be a suitable strategy to reduce inflammation in breast cancer survivors. However, further research is needed to investigate the effects of exercise mode and program
