The Ukrainian parliament has approved a law with a list of rewards for Russian military equipment. Russian soldiers defecting to Ukraine with a warship or a jet can now claim up to $1 million. A tank or an artillery piece would be worth a $100,000 reward.
The wife of former Ukrainian MP Ihor Kotvitskyi declared 28 million dollars and 1.3 million euros when entering Hungary. Kotvitskyi has faced allegations of corruption in the past.
Spectacular footage: Two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles shot down within seconds over Kyiv Oblast on Nov. 15. First is audible explosion and glow on horizon, second a clear view of interception by German Iris-T air defense system.
Westerners must realize Ukraine is not facing a choice between war and peace, but a choice between war and annihilation. Peace for Ukraine in this case means surrender, and the destruction of their state. Ukrainians will not accept this. They'll fight until they defeat Russia.
In Ukraine, we’re not afraid of cruise missiles.
We’re not afraid of Iranian Shahed flying bombs.
We’re not scared by Putin’s nuclear bomb threats.
The only thing we’re scared of, is that you, the civilized world, stops supporting us.
Please, don’t make us scared.
Can we finally stop talking about "ethnic Russians" in Ukraine?
They're Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
You don't call English-speaking Irish people "ethnic English people in Ireland."
"Ethnic-Russians" in Ukraine are Kremlin inventions that have been used to justify aggression.
Updated map showing approximate area currently under control of "Belgorod People's Republic" forces.
No matter what happens, I'm quite sure this will go down as one of the greatest international military trolling operations in history.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stands next to the wreckage of an Iranian Shahed-136 drone, which Iran denies having supplied to Russia, and which Russia uses to attack Ukrainian cities.
So grateful to Poland for helping me and my Ukrainian family, and hundreds of thousands of other Ukrainians in a time of need. Russia always claimed to be a “brotherly” nation to Ukraine, but today it’s clear who’s Ukraine’s true brother nation - Glory to Poland!
It appears a Ukrainian crew actually did deck out one of their HIMARS launchers with Christmas lights to send some New Year’s “gifts” to fascist Russia’s invasion forces.
Horrifying rain of thermite from Russian Grad 9M22S incendiary rockets. Thermite burns at 3,000 C - through metal. Ukraine’s troops are facing some of the most savage, barbarous weapons ever devised. There’s no excuse not to quickly supply them with weapons to fight back with.
Why is
@BBCWorld
News still calling the Russian invasion of Ukraine "the Ukraine conflict?"
This is a misleading, objectively incorrect description of this event.
“People should get their heads around the idea that Ukraine is going to defeat Russia on the battlefield, the old fashioned way. They have irreversible momentum. Now is the time to put the pedal to the metal.” - US Lt. General (ret) Ben Hodges
The bust of the Soviet military hero Marshal Zhukov is torn down again in Kharkiv. It was last torn down in June 2019, but was restored by the then pro-Russian Kharkiv Mayor, the late Hennadiy Kernes.
“The Russian army proudly shows how it can obliterate the center of a Ukrainian town in just eight seconds. And
@OlafScholz
meanwhile speaks to Putin by telephone for 80 minutes?! …”

telefoniert?! …
Putin reckons if he can drag out the war long enough, the West will tire of supporting Ukraine - and he's prepared to throw another 1/2 million Russians into the meat-grinder to do it. It's vital Ukraine gets more arms fast so it can defeat Russia quickly.
Russia painting Ukrainian city names in its own colors. It was never about NATO. It was never about “denazifying” Ukraine. It was always about seizing more Lebensraum for fascist Russia, and wiping out the Ukrainian state, and Ukrainians with it.
Russian Ministry of Defense claims it destroyed two of Ukraine's HIMARS rocket artillery systems, and posts video to prove it. Apparently, the two 16.2 ton, 7 m long, 3.2. m high, 2.4 m wide HIMARS vehicles were hidden in a room on the second floor of a building in Kharkiv.
Bad news for a regime when its own security forces start supporting the people. In Ukraine, the riot police simply slunk away, while here, they're showing active support for the rebellion. The Iranian regime is going to fall, sooner or later.
#Iran
: incredible footage from the city of
#Mahabad
where riot police are cheered on by the people as they refuse to crack down on anti-regime protests.
This is the area of Dnipro where the Russian Kh-22 anti-ship missile hit. It's an ordinary residential district. There's not a single target in the vicinity even tangentially related to the military. This atrocity should be urgently investigated as a war crime.
“Neutral” Switzerland has banned the export of ammunition for the excellent Gepard AA system Ukraine uses. But you can’t be neutral in this conflict - if you deny help to one side, you help the other. So Switzerland is effectively aiding fascist Russia against democratic Ukraine.
Ukrainian troops told
@radiosvoboda
that Gepard mobile antiaircraft systems donated by Germany have proven effective at stopping Russian-operated drones made in Iran.
It's true: shops, supermarkets, banks, postal, delivery services all working - even the road markings in my remote region of Kyiv have been repainted. Despite the stress of war, the constant air raids, worry about the future - Ukrainians just get on with it. Fantastic resilience.
⚡️Volodymyr Zelenskyi: You know, for some reason I rarely thanked ordinary people working in Ukraine. Which, despite everything, remain here. Who do their thing every day. With faith in Ukraine, with faith in victory. Now I want to thank you. Thank you for having Ukraine.
Evidence that French company Thales contravened sanctions and sold weapons to Russia. Those weapons were later used by the Russian army to murder Ukrainian civilians.
A tiny car of the French brand. A family was trying to escape but was killed by 🇷🇺 murderers. Killed, as it is now proved, with French weapons sold in circumvention of sanctions in 2015. Anyone in 🇪🇺 who tries to make up to 🇷🇺 must see the result of their actions.
First Russian soldier to go on trial in Ukraine, for murdering a 62-year-old civilian in Sumy Oblast. Hopefully this will be the first of many Russian soldiers to face justice for their crimes in Ukraine. (From Ukrainian prosecutor general's Facebook page, automatic translation.)
Another massacre in Kyiv Oblast: Along the road near the village of Buzovaya the bodies of 50 people, shot execution-style at close range, have been discovered. In the village itself, another mass grave with dozens of bodies.
I don’t think there can be any doubt now that Musk is against democratic Ukraine and for fascist Russia, as he’s using his own account to post Kremlin propaganda now.
Hey
@elonmusk
, it seems like it's no longer possible to have a Ukrainian number verify a Twitter account/two-factor authentication. Ukraine is not in your list of countries, see our screenshot.
It's vital for us to keep showing the world what's going on in our country.
Russia will treat western arms shipments to Ukraine as legitimate military targets, deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov says.
"We warned [the US] of consequences from the insane transfer to Ukraine of weapons like mobile anti-aircraft systems, anti-tank missiles, and so on."
While Russian tourists whine about having to flee holidays in Crimea, a Ukrainian girl who had both of her legs blown off in a Russian missile strike against civilians at a railway station in the Donbas is learning to walk again with prosthetic legs.
If Ukraine is given more of these weapons soon it will be able to defeat the Russian invasion force - ending the war quickly, saving thousands of lives, and eliminating the threat posed by Russian fascism to Europe and the world.
Great signs in Kazakhstan with Pres. Tokayev:
1. 🇰🇿 decided to uphold Western sanctions against🇷🇺.
2. In front of Putin🇷🇺, Tokayev said🇰🇿 won’t recognize DNR/LNR.
3. Yesterday spoke Kazakh, not Russian, in meeting with Azeri 🇦🇿 President.
4. Now flags supporting🇺🇦 in Karaganda🇰🇿
Rare footage from Zaporizhzhia Oblast on 4/21: Ukraine shoots down a Russian Mi-8 attack helicopter with Ukrainian 9K38 Igla MANPADS surface-to-air missile. As soon as it stops popping out flares, the MANPADS strikes.
Most likely Russians posing with stolen Ukrainian uniforms (Russians got some from overrun positions at beginning of full-scale invasion.) Note gun strap on rightmost figure with "Oktyabr" (Russian imperialist reference to revolution), not Ukrainian Zhovten.
The bureaucracy my Ukrainian family faces to get to UK is nothing short of cruel, sadistic. To make any progress at each step, you have to pay TLSContact. And we're going to have to pay days of extra hotel costs as we trudge through UK bureaucratic hell.
#ScammingRefugees
At Kyiv Central Station, trying to get me and family out on a train to Lviv. Partner was going frantic and in the end even Babushka wanted to leave. Couldn’t risk daughter getting caught up in another Grozny. Sad and ashamed to leave, but I will be back. Slava Ukrayini!
A Black Swan of their own making?
Reports that cholera is sickening Russian forces in Kherson Oblast and Crimea - probably spread by filthy flood water from the Kakhovka dam break. An army’s worst enemy of old - disease - may have now entered the fray.
It's amazing how many Indians support the Kremlin over Ukraine. You'd think the one country in the world that would be totally against colonialization and imperialism would be India. Instead I'm getting all these shitty takes from Indians and it's block, block, mute, mute, mute.
Musk gets to decide U.S. foreign policy, determining himself what actions constitute conflict escalation, and restricting the actions of a U.S. military ally at his own discretion.
Remind me who voted him into power, or which elected official appointed him to such a role?
Abrams tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles seen transported by train in Poland. US has promised Bradleys to Ukraine, but has not said it will supply the advanced, modern Abrams main battle tanks. Ukraine urgently needs modern tanks to defeat Russian invasion forces.
Russian police pick off protesters in ones or twos, and no other protesters come to their aid. If they can’t organize self-defense units like the Ukrainians did at the EuroMaidan protests, the Russian public will be unable to offer any resistance to their fascist police state.
The Kremlin now sending overt signals that it wants to negotiate: The aim is to "freeze" the conflict with the present territorial gains for Russia, so that more territory can be taken once Russia regains military strength. Ukraine understands this, but will the West fall for it?
🤡Peskov: Putin is ready to negotiate with President of
#Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy on how the "special operation" will be terminated and the observance not of conditions, but of Russia's interests.
Alleged breakthrough by Ukrainian Bradleys and Leopard 2A6 tanks - unconfirmed, and location unknown so far, but one of the first such videos I've seen. Ukraine tight-lipped with info from front, but things might be starting to move...
"Anecdotally, Twitter users who post frequently on Ukraine topics had noticed less engagement with their accounts since Musk took over the platform."
Surprise, surprise / Analysis of Twitter algorithm code reveals it down-ranks tweets about Ukraine
"The Ukrainians have given us a chance to turn this century around, a chance for freedom and security that we could not have achieved by our own efforts, no matter who we happen to be. All we have to do is help them win."

Interesting video of explosion at Engels Airbase. At 15 sec, sound of something passing overhead. At 42 sec, light from explosion. 19 secs later - sound of blast, about 6.2 km away (speed of sound 326.34 m/s, dry air -8 C.)
The same people who are telling us Putin is a dangerous lunatic ready to unleash a nuclear war if Ukraine takes back its territory are also telling us the dictator is a reasonable and trustworthy man who is ready to negotiate peace in good faith.
My partner: “The treatment your county is giving me, a refugee from war, is inhuman. Look at the difference with how Poland treated us.”
Already waiting five hours at the visa center, and I can’t disagree with her.
Deeply ashamed of my county, the UK.
Chatter about Ukrainian amphibious landings in Kinburn Peninsula, taking the town of Herois'ke, artillery strike on Russian base in Hornostaivka, rumors of Ukrainian troops in Oleshky, explosions reported in Hola Prystan'... No operational pause after Kherson, it seems.
Russia modifying 800 T-62 tanks, some probably more than 50 years old, for its war in Ukraine. This probably means it has run out of all of its modern (relatively) T-64, T-72 and T-80 tanks, and can’t manufacture new ones quickly.
Россия модифицирует 800 танков Т-62 для войны в Украине. Это значит, что все более новые танки Т-64, Т-72 и Т-80 закончились, а новые быстро произвести нельзя
Оцените обстановку танкового завода на видео, кстати
OSINT company Molfar says it has identified 44 people connected to the missile strike on the apartment block in Dnipro on Jan. 14. They include the commander of the aviation unit, pilots, and even ground crew. Also debunks claim UA air defense hit missile.
Reported range (1,000 km) of Ukrainian strike done said to have been successfully tested. Has 75 kg warhead. (Center at Vasylkiv airbase south of Kyiv. Could reach as far a Kazan and Samara if launched from further east).
Russian getting ready for another “goodwill gesture?”
According to Mykolayiv Oblast Governor Vitaly Kim, the entire Russian command staff is evacuating across the Dnipro River, (from right-bank Dnipro to left-bank). That means leaving the city of Kherson.
Video of aftermath of Russian rocket strike in Kharkiv, 0801, March 1, 2022. Target seemed to be Regional Administration Building, but rocket missed. Geolocated at 50.005000, 36.236033.
Reuters changes headline in this propaganda article from "Pro-Russian Kherson" to "Russian-controlled" (in fact "Russian-occupied") but still describes Russia's theft of Ukraine's grain as "grain exports."
Unbelievable. They're doing Kremlin propaganda agency TASS's work for it
Not enough info to draw firm conclusions, but explosion at Engels air base (700 km away), where Russian bombers that attack Ukrainian cities are based, comes day after Ukraine announced successful tests of 1,000-km-range strike drone. Quite a coincidence.
Russia has used cluster munitions against Ukrainian civilians since Day One.
Now, on Day 498, we’re clutching pearls over whether Ukraine should use cluster munitions against occupying Russian soldiers.
For fuck’s sake.
“Ukraine should have been provided with adequate numbers of air defence systems, artillery, tanks, ATACMS, Taurus cruise missiles and F-16s by the end of 2022.”
There's a video circulating of Russians executing Ukrainian civilians and dumping their bodies in a pit, just like the Nazis did.
Won't repost as it's stuff of nightmares.
But we're dealing with real fascists here - they have to be defeated. Ukraine can do it if it gets help.

rules, competitors can be disqualified for refusing to salute their opponent, which is what Kharlan was disqualified for. However, salute is not defined as handshake, and footage shows Kharlan offered salute in form of a sword tap, which her opponent refused.
As footage of the incident shows, Kharlan (left), after winning 15:7, offered to tap swords (as pe COVID-19 rules) in lieu of a handshake, but the Russian refused. The Russian then refused to leave the hall until the judges disqualified Kharlan.
Apart from being civilized and humane, this will allow Russian soldiers to inform their relatives at home about the actual situation in the war, chipping away at fascist Russia’s propaganda.

Whether one likes it or not, Crimea is absolutely seen as a core part of Ukraine by Ukraine.
Crimea is also of critical national security importance to Ukraine, as it is a base from which to protect its ports.
For them, losing Crimea is like USA losing Florida.

Whether one likes it or not, Crimea is absolutely seen as a core part of Russia by Russia.
Crimea is also of critical national security importance to Russia, as it is their southern navy base.
From their standpoint losing Crimea is like USA losing Hawaii & Pearl Harbor.
Having now been a refugee, I can tell you no refugee wants to leave their country, none of them really want to come to yours, and they all want to go home as soon as possible.
Be kind to them while they’re in your country.
“For thirty years, Germans lectured Ukrainians about fascism,” the historian Timothy Snyder wrote recently. “When fascism actually arrived, Germans funded it, and Ukrainians died fighting it.”
“If we don’t stop Moscow’s aggression here, our descendants will have to do it.”
Georgia, 1993. A generation ago. And now their descendants are indeed fighting Moscow’s aggression.
Every time I watch this video it gives me chills.
In 1993, Ukrainian volunteers in
#Georgia
explicitly stated that
#Russia
would someday invade
#Ukraine
if Russian imperialism was not destroyed immediately.
