A COLD WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for all of Erie County from 7 PM tonight through 10 am Friday. Dangerous wind chills of 15 below to 20 below are expected across Western New York and as cold as 30 below.

There is a band of lake effect snow extending from Lake Erie into the the City of Buffalo and nearby Northtowns, which is slowly sinking southward. If you will driving early this evening, expect rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Take it slow!

A band of lake effect snow and additional blowing of the pre-existing snowpack northeast of Lake Erie will create locally hazardous travel conditions through this evening. Be prepared for sharply reduced visibilities and deteriorated road conditions in the area.
