Quiet weather today with high temperatures ranging in the 80s and a touch more humidity. An area of low pressure will then bring us showers and scattered thunderstorms late tonight, with a Marginal Risk of severe storms across WNY.

Overall, a nice weekend is ahead, with most of the rain chances confined to Saturday night and Sunday morning. If you have outdoor plans, dry weather will prevail through the daylight hours Saturday, and again Sunday afternoon.

Some low cloud cover in place across the region early this morning with even a few sprinkles east of Lake Ontario. These will clear out as high pressure moves directly overhead today with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. Quiet weather lasts through tonight.

Winds become northerly and light overnight behind a cold front, while also ushering in a refreshing air mass. Lows in the 50s tonight and highs in the 70s Friday, along with comfortable humidity levels will provide very pleasant mid-summer conditions with ample sun on Friday.

A cold front will bring more scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region today, but also result in gusty non-thunderstorm winds northeast of the lakes. Thunderstorms may become locally strong to severe and more numerous across the North Country this afternoon.

It was very warm today, and it will be even hotter and more humid Wednesday. The Heat Index will climb into the mid to upper 90s for lower elevation areas south and east of Lake Ontario. Scattered showers and storms will develop in the afternoon heat.

Scattered showers across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes will end by late evening, with mainly clear skies overnight. Patchy fog will develop, mainly across the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and east of Lake Ontario. It will turn slightly cooler than the past few nights.
