The shocking and tragic news has now reached many about the death of our Head, Emma Pattison. The College community will be coming together today to process the news, grieve and pay our respects to a wonderful Head. 1/3
Today we welcome Sir Anthony Seldon as he begins in his role as the 15th Head of Epsom College. His expertise and compassionate leadership will help guide us through the next 18 months, whilst honouring Emma Pattison's intentions and plans for the College.
We will be in close contact with Surrey Police over the coming weeks and months. We hope everyone will respect the privacy of Emma's family at this time and allow the College's pupils, staff and wider community the time and space necessary to come to terms with this loss. 3/3
Mr Paul Williams, Second Master extraordinaire, has won
@SchoolsTatler
’s Unsung Hero of the Year.
The man is an Epsom legend - there can barely have been a more richly deserved honour, in this of all years.
At this time there is nothing more that we can say regarding the circumstances around Mrs Pattison and her family's death beyond the statement issued by Surrey Police yesterday evening (Sunday 5 February). 2/3
We are offering 117 single-bed rooms, plus onsite parking, free of chrage to NHS staff fighting against coronavirus.

Our monarch, our matriarch, our patron for almost half the life of our College.
Thank you, your Majesty; now rest in peace, reunited with your strength and stay.
A complete honour to have been judged the Independent School Of The Year, and awarded the top prize for Student Wellbeing.
A huge honour, and a great reflection on years of hard work from our pupils, staff and Headmaster until this year

In addition to opening our doors to children of local keyworkers, our

Other schools must have similar equipment. Why not drop your local surgery an email and see what's needed?

No fewer than 23

*it's only two year groups, in multiple bubbles, with an intricate one-way system, staggered lunches, entries/exits, temperature checks... but it's great to see pupils back at the College.
We are looking forward to welcoming a host of NHS staff over the coming days and weeks.
The first arrive today, and will be treated like heroes while they are our guests. It is the least we can do for those bravely battling on the frontline.
Excited to welcome more NHS heroes from local Hospitals to stay in our House. Our history spans many episodes of national crisis since the college's foundation as ‘The Royal Medical Benevolent College’, and this chapter adds to our story.

Tomorrow sees the first competitive fixtures of the season: Hockey and Football vs St John's.
We would love to have the pitch-sides buzzing, but our priority is safety and Covid-security.
Please support our gradual return to normality by keeping these fixtures spectator-free.
Our heartfelt condolences go to our patron, Her Majesty the Queen and the whole Royal Family following the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. A truly inspirational man.
Here's the Prince at Epsom College in 1955, commemorating our centenary year.
When the pandemic hit, most London hospitals were converted to deal with Covid-19 & all trauma surgery in London was diverted to the RNOH.
But because they're not battling coronavirus they couldn't access PPE.
Until we supplied 160 visors this week.

Shirts tucked in and ties straight! The fog lifted just in time for today's whole school photo. It took military precision to line up the 1250 pupils and staff in attendance 📸
Snow has fallen and our grounds are looking all the more beautiful for it! We are well and truly in the festive spirit going into the final week of term❄️
Our wonderful support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes enjoyed their annual Christmas lunch this week. The raffle for

A results day like no other, however we must remember that today’s outcomes mark the culmination of two years of rigorous preparation and study, and they must be celebrated accordingly. Our 2020 leavers are a credit to the College. Read the full story: 👏
There have only ever been 27 centuries made against Australia’s women in one day cricket.
Nat Sciver-Brunt has made 4 of them in her last 5 innings.
Legend status secured.
Today we bid farewell to Mrs Fi Drinkall, who many OEs will remember from their time at Epsom. Here she is after her final assembly, holding a bound copy of her mammoth Year 9 newsletters as a parting gift. We wish her all the best for what the future holds - don't be a stranger!

On the day we heard of the sad death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, dedicated to duty and service. The Chapel bell was tolled 99 times. The Headmaster read from St Paul’s letter to the Philippians (4:4-9) and our Senior Chaplain led the community in prayer.”
