One of the things I miss the most about LA is my involvement in the community. Resigning as Chair of the @brfoodbank Board was tough, and this present in the mail from them makes me miss them more. They are some of the best people I know.

We continued our Summer of Support last week at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon. Thanks to so many teachers for spending time with us to prepare for the upcoming transition to the new English and Math Standards in the new school year.

It was such a pleasure to be able to welcome them at this once in a lifetime experience.
This past weekend in Lexington, the Governor's World Language Full Immersion Academies kicked off the program's 39th year. Virginia students will spend the next three weeks @wlunews in a full immersion atmosphere studying and speaking only Spanish, French or German.
