There is a reason a lot of women call themselves prostitution survivors. It's cause a lot of women do not survive. Because most know somebody who did not survive. Sometimes by "quick" #femicide, but often by #SlowFemicide. The perpetrators are anonymous and too many to name.

If I express what I wished would happen to these men I might be kicked off this platform. But what they're doing to women is 99% legal in my country. And when women are too sick to be raped anymore, they're abandoned to the streets, impoverished home countries or killed by pimps.

Men in legal prostitution systems fairly liberally pay to abuse the bodies and minds of women who they can see are dissociated, distressed, self-harming, addicted, slurring their words, malnourished, ill. We know this cause they admit to it all the time:.

Meanwhile, the men who cause this, knowingly or unknowingly - and a frightening number of them do know they're harming - live largely normal lives, right there among us: In the supermarket, in the schools and universities, and in parliament. "Customers" not rapists, not killers.

Women unable to work, and/or with spiraling addictions, and/or disabilities, trauma & brain injuries -as long as they can string a couple of sentences together and are not in active psychosis are considered to be "consenting prostitutes" in my country. This is deeply shameful.
