After being nominated in 1958, 1959, and 1960, Elizabeth finally took home her first Best Actress Oscar at the 1961 ceremony for her role in BUtterfield 8!
While filming “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” Elizabeth received the news that her husband, Mike Todd, had passed away. After only 5 weeks, she returned to work and finished production. Today, we remember Mike Todd and his love with Elizabeth that didn’t last nearly long enough.

62 years ago today, “Suddenly, Last Summer” was released in theaters. The film, an adaptation of the play by Tennessee Williams, stars Elizabeth Taylor and her dear friend Montgomery Clift in the roles of Cathrine Holly and Dr. Cukrowicz, respectively.
