These proteins play a fundamental role in the quantal nature of neurotransmission, and we wish to understand how their properties influence synaptic physiology. The work combines structure with novel assays for glutamate flux and transporter currents.

The research would be independent, with support from the group. The position also includes some lab activities not to exceed 30% time. Coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry is required. Coursework and interest in neuroscience would be desirable.
