New 2024 births data out today for England and Wales 🏴 🏴 👶 📈.
In 2024, there were 594,677 live births in England and Wales, an increase of 3,605 (0.6%) compared with 2023 (591,072). This is the first increase since 2021, although it is smaller than the 1.8% increase from 2020 to 2021. ➡️

Here we go again - the @ONS (subject to funding) will be conducting another census in 2031 in England and Wales 📈📊.
Today @UKStatsAuth has recommended the Government commissions a mandatory whole population census of England and Wales in 2031. Subject to Government approval, this will be supported by the growing power of admin data we use across population & migration statistics.
