This is a great response on tools to assist with research and writing. Identifying paid through to free is so helpful, given the range of contexts in which our Ecclesial Futures writers and book reviewers are involved.

Stories can be a paragraph at the start of a section or a chapter. They invite people into your work and connect your research with reality. They don’t need to have a direct point but work by locating the reader in the reality of your research. Stories help academic writing.

Stories are interesting! Do you have any interesting or funny moments that occurred during your research? Any tables that collapsed or people that got locked in a cupboard or lost or cups of tea got spilt? Stories bring colour to writing. (Photo by Brett Jordan on Unsplash)

And for a "outsider" perspective on "reverse mission", John Neate's fascinating paper, Cultural perceptions: A barrier to the role of cross-cultural friendships in mission? in Vol 3, 2.
