Thursday 8 May 2025 marks 80 years since VE (Victory in Europe) Day. Today, we join communities across the county and the nation in marking #VEDay - a time to remember, honour, reflect and pay tribute to all who served during the Second World War. #VEDay80

We are currently in attendance at a fire in Northiam Road, #Staplecross. 8 fire engines were initially called to the scene. Firefighters are continuing to tackle the fire. Road closures are in place, please avoid the area and, if local, close windows and doors.

Today at midday, @EastSussexFRS honour #FirefightersMemorialDay - remembering those who lost their lives in the line of duty. On 1 May, a minute’s silence was held at Lewes HQ with staff and @sussex_police, commemorating the dedication and sacrifices of firefighters everywhere.
