There are a lot of depressing pictures of division, violence and hate from today. Here in Sheffield we stood together, against hate. It's not all bad out there ✊ #Sheffieldissuper #protests

Great news for the women who were detained - they are now all going to be free! Now, it's time to release *EVERYONE* who has been detained under the Rwanda Plan from immigration detention centres. #FreeRwandaDetainees

🚨BREAKING All women who were detained with Notices of Intent for Rwanda have now been granted bail and will be RELEASED from detention. Whilst we are extremely pleased this has happened, it is shameful and cruel that it has taken so long. #FreeRwandaDetainees

Following the passing of the “Safety of Rwanda” Act by the UK, UN leaders have sounded the alarm on the harmful impact it will have on global responsibility sharing, human rights and refugee protection. Full statement: https://t.co/1dQ6DQxYaV

Meet Mohammed* & Jamal* both 16 from Afghanistan. Alone in the UK, their true ages were disbelieved, leading to them being placed in adult facilities. Forced to share rooms with adults, children as young as 14 face fear, trauma, and abuse: https://t.co/dC01kEnH0Z *Names changed

An under-reported issue, that is right here under our noses. Asylum seeking children sadly matter less.

I work with people seeking asylum. Today I bumped into two young men who I met 3 years ago as new arrivals. They have just been granted their stay this week. 3 years! They were off to look for jobs.

📸 Ammar is from Yemen, and is an amazing photographer. Refugees have many different skills and talents which they bring to the UK. ⏳ BUT long delays and hostile policies prevent refugees from working and integrating - and prevent the rest of us from benefiting, too.

Today's Court of Appeal ruling brings hope and relief for those we support. Rwanda has been deemed an unsafe country for processing people's asylum claims, sparing countless individuals from fear and anguish.  But the fight for an orderly, humane, and fair asylum system

So far today 3 conversations about burn out & exhaustion in the refugee & asylum sector. Firstly our sector wasn’t built for 170K people being tormented & bullied by removal, living in horrific accommodation incubating health crisis. We’re doing amazingly well- you are amazing!

Robert Jenrick on @bbclaurak show today claimed most people coming to UK on boats are economic migrants. Untrue as the @ukhomeoffice statistics show. Most are refugees fleeing terror and war.

Come on @SuttonCouncil you can’t be serious? Foxes are part of a healthy ecosystem - and can be ecosystem engineers - this can’t be right? Please stop this. RT so they hear the voices of Saffron and everyone who loves nature

So @SuttonCouncil have confirmed that they will continue to shoot foxes dead on the Beddington Wetlands regardless of cubbing season for ‘nature conservation’ I have done everything within my limited power to no avail. I call on residents & sympathetic councillors for support 🙏🏽

This #MothersDay, let's stand with separated refugee children in the UK who can't bring their parents to join them in safety because of the UK's unfair family reunion rules. #LetMeBringMyMum ✍️ Show your support by signing our virtual card: https://t.co/HwBxFIJF2S

Separated refugee children need their families but unfair UK rules prevent reunification. We support over 5,000 separated children, some as young as 11, who arrived alone. Join @FamTogetherCo to call for change in the law to protect vulnerable children. #FamiliesTogether

4 false statements from @SuellaBraverman 1) Refugees dont have to claim asylum in the 1st so-called safe country 2) Being an "adult male" does not mean you can't be a refugee 3) The UK's asylum laws aren't "generous" 4) Seeking asylum is not a crime. #saferoutes don't exist
