Help us reach our target of raising £500 this Ramadan! 🤲 This month, a period of generosity and compassion for many, we invite you-regardless of faith-to stand with refugees, asylum seekers & migrants who are struggling under the UK’s hostile environment.

4/ While some hotel closures were announced by the Home Sec, this must go further. The 2026 contractual break is a chance to replace hotels with community-based solutions: local housing that’s cost-effective and stable.

3/ Asylum seekers don't want hotel stays. They long for homes where they can cook, clean, and rebuild their lives. Private contractors like Clearsprings and Serco profit from this system, raking in millions—while the taxpayer covers the £145/night cost.

2/ For too many, temporary hotels have become long-term confinement. Families endure cramped, unsanitary rooms, rats, inedible food—and children suffer infections, stomach problems, and mental health decline. These are not safe havens but degrading, inhumane spaces.

1/ Yesterday, we delivered our petition to No. 10 Downing Street and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, calling for an end to using hotels as asylum accommodation. With over 500 signatures, it’s clear: the system is failing families, and urgent change is needed. #ProtectAsylumSeekers

Our client has lived in the UK for 37+ years. The Home Office denied her private life app, claiming a 4year gap in objective evidence—despite written testimony proving her presence. RAMFEL appealed& a judge ruled in 1 day in her favour. Justice served, but what a waste of time?🙄.

🥳🥳🥳.Some excellent holiday news. Our 16yr old client has been given indefinite leave to remain. He's lived in the UK since age 2 & this country is all he knows. Despite this, it cost him nearly £3K to secure permanent immigration status. Now though his future is secure.

Labour has announced plans to close safe pathways to the UK for Afghans fleeing Taliban rule. The reason being to ‘ensure value for money for the taxpayer’. Human lives must ALWAYS come before cost saving.

'Looking at this family’s attempt to use so called “safe & legal” routes available, that has lasted three 3yrs & counting without a legally sustainable decision, is it a surprise people resort to more dangerous journeys?'.Great piece & spot on @SoniaL77.
