How badly did Team Cuomo screw this up? I haven't seen anything like it since the last campaign I worked on before becoming a journalist -- Howard Samuels for governor, 1974. Overwhelming favorite lost the primary by 22 points.

A Mamdani loss Tuesday won't end NYC's potential nightmare. Come November, he'll be on the WFP line, running as the lone lefty against moderates Cuomo (D), Adams (I) and Sliwa (R). With no vote threshold to meet, he could pull off a reverse Procaccino.
