One of my favorite lessons I’ve learnt from working with smart people: Action produces information. If you’re unsure of what to do, just do anything, even if it’s the wrong thing. This will give you information about what you should actually be doing. Sounds simple on the

If you're curious about how ultrasound-activated heat-shock promoters (HSPs) can be used for therapeutic control in engineered macrophages, make sure to read the full paper: https://t.co/fBgK6IN6HI Really exciting direction for ultrasound-controlled cell therapies!

We put together an axisymmetric bioheat FEM model with a PID control loop informed by IR surface imaging — and the results were super interesting. The tissue warms up and quickly homogenizes, with no long-lasting hotspots inside the tumor.

This was a short but really fun collaboration! My labmate Ann Liu asked if I could help her model how a subQ tumor heats up under a therapeutic ultrasound transducer using a hydrophone-measured acoustic field.

This is so incredible! 🙌
This is the skydiving shot if you missed it! I call it “The Fall of a Icarus” and I’ll have prints available for the next couple days or until they sell out here: https://t.co/K4DovGV4ni

An exciting milestone for AI in science: Our C2S-Scale 27B foundation model, built with @Yale and based on Gemma, generated a novel hypothesis about cancer cellular behavior, which scientists experimentally validated in living cells. With more preclinical and clinical tests,

We now live in a world where after a strep throat infection, when a friend asks how you’re doing your response is “I think I’m getting better! My RHR is starting to come down again! And I think that’s beautiful 😍 #data #wearables

NASA is sending a helicopter to Saturn's moon Titan to fly through its atmosphere and search for signs of life. We recently hosted NASA JPL scientist Dr. Morgan Cable to tell us all about it at Astronomy on Tap, and her talk is now up on YouTube here: https://t.co/H4WQZyOdzr

"I learned that any difficult problem can be solved by great effort." Remembering Osamu Shimomura, born #OTD in 1928, who dedicated his life to studying the bioluminescence of the luminous jellyfish Aequorea, and discovered green fluorescent protein, GFP.

Having a strong math and physics foundation has never been so important!!
I met a founder today who said he writes 10,000 lines of code a day now thanks to AI. This is probably the limit case. He's a hotshot programmer, he knows AI tools very well, and he's talking about a 12 hour day. But he's not naive. This is not 10,000 lines of bug-filled crap.

🔋 Pretty cool stuff
Neurons are hungry for energy, and carry their own batteries. Excited to share our latest study, on the use of glycogen by neurons as a "capacitors" to support glycolytic plasticity. You can find the article here: https://t.co/oxEUKheJJ1 and press release

What a beautiful shot! 👏
The ISS transiting our sun: a photograph that requires the right equipment and sufficient planning to pull off. While I’ve captured the ISS many times, this is one of my favorite photos of it. Something incredibly humbling seeing it juxtaposed against the power of our star.

Direct material quantifications reveal a liquid-to-solid transition of synapsin condensates in vitro and in live cells.
🚨 New manuscript: We present “MAPAC”, a technique that allows direct quantifications of the viscoelasticity and interfacial tension of condensates in live cells! https://t.co/mCJG4kpEzL
