A new object has been identified entering our Solar System from interstellar space. 3I/ATLAS is only the third object (after Oumuamua and Borisov in 2017 and 2019) to have been detected coming from outside of our Solar System.

We were able to see the aurora borealis a couple of weeks ago in the dark skies of rural Nevada alongside a glowing Milky Way. Dark skies are indeed a treasure, so please support efforts to limit light pollution in your area.

You can light marshmallows on fire using the Sun! We made an appearance at STEAM Fest in Ely Nevada, where we set up solar telescopes and our solar marshmallow demo, concentrating sunlight using mirrors. Great fun and science (and marshmallows) were had by all!

Last weekend, we helped host the first "Space Ride" a free group bike ride to highlight Pasadena's unique role in astronomy and space discoveries! We had 55 riders join us, cycling between Caltech, NASA JPL, The Planetary Society, and Carnegie Observatories over a few hours.
