Two points about "asymmetry". 1. The IDF must be powerful or Israel would not exist. 2. The comparator should not be "the Palestinians" but the combined forces of Hamas, Hezbollah, PIJ, Fatah, Syria, Iran and other enemies. Zoom out and the asymmetry is in the opposite direction.
Does anyone have any doubts what would happen to Jews if the "asymmetry of power" was reversed?

When it comes to Israel the @bbc lost its moral compass years ago. Maybe there should be an enquiry into their "reporting" (that goes far beyond mere bias)? Wait - there was one in 2004 called the Balen Report, the findings of which have long been suppressed.
