I wholeheartedly support their campaign and hope it results in a real change to the scheme. https://t.co/xEI74QXbrm

The fundamental idea behind the Scottish Government initiative was to help build a fairer society by offering free public transport to its young people. However, it fails to include inter isle ferry travel within the scheme.

Great to see the current @ShetlandMSYPs using their platform to make a real difference to young people in the islands. The harsh reality is that young people in remote island communities are disadvantaged by having to pay for ferry travel as part of their commute.

Supposedly apart of a voluntary union, which Scotland cannot leave. Supposedly allowed to make laws in a devolved area. Whether you support independence or the Bill, this is an attack on Scottish democracy and the Scottish government legislative power.

Thoughts are with Sir David Amess’ family today after the horrific attack he suffered at a constituency meeting. Regardless of your job, you should always be able to come home at the end of the day.

I find it absolutely appalling that so many high level government officials are failing to deal with the massive failings by @metpoliceuk by calling for the Commissioner to resign. Fundamental change is required at the top to ensure public, importantly women’s safety.
BREAKING: Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he is standing by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, after the conviction of a former police officer for the murder of Sarah Everard. Get more on this story: https://t.co/FcFQPvwU9Z

Just voted at @ShetIslandsCll polling station, it’s so important everyone gets out and expresses their feelings towards our government through their ballot. This year has been hard on us all, but this is our chance to bring about positive change!

Massive turning point today in the global fight against Covid-19. Huge congratulations to all that has worked so very hard to achieve this momentous accomplishment. Looking forward to receiving the vaccine in due course and hopefully getting back to a more normal world.

Wishing all the best to Jonathan in his campaign to be a Trustee on the @OfficialSYP board. Jonathan’s achieved very impressive things in his first year of SYP and I have no doubts if given the opportunity, this can easily be replicated on the national level. #JD4Trustee

I have no doubt that Josh will continue the great legacy of SYP chairs if elected and can reassure all MSYPs, that Josh is certainly the right man for the role. All the best Josh!

I would like to take the opportunity to fully endorse @JoshKenMSYP in his campaign to be the next @OfficialSYP chair. From my time in the Scottish Youth Parliament, Josh was a kind, honest and well spoken person whom welcomed me into the SYP family at my first sitting.

New Scottish guidance places students under greater restrictions than anyone else in Scotland. They also refer to additional university staff going into halls to monitor compliance! This is shocking treatment and I am appalled. Students’ have civil liberties and freedoms.
🆕Scottish Principals have agreed further action to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in university accomodation. New measures include making it clear to students that there must be no parties and no socialising outside their households. Read more 👇 https://t.co/Qni94ybVSZ

Hugely encouraging to see this from the Commissioner and the team. A potential violation of human rights and again shows a sheer lack of competence. Students won’t take the blame for this second wave and suffer as a result.

The sheer lack of competence shown towards students by the Scottish goverment is alarming. Students have been let down massively by this goverment during this pandemic. We have been isolated even further from society tonight. The Scottish Gov need to do better.

One year on and @JohnRossScott and @KristopherLeask have published an updated version, outlining the progress made by local authorities across Scotland on increasing youth participation in decision making. Find out more:
Delighted to see the ‘Being Heard’ report published today. A great price of work and was delighted to be included in the report! Great work @JohnRossScott

An excellent example of a young footballer using his platform to do good for his local community and children across the country. @MattHancock took a cheap shot at footballers and now has to eat his own words and continue on the brilliant work already achieved.
