@ExpatriationLaw @DualCitizenship Dual citizens living in the US would arguably be affected most precariously if their US citizenship were to be deemed relinquished. It would impact their homes, businesses, and employment in the US, not to mention making their continued presence suddenly "undocumented!"

I understand the impulse to analogize. It’s a powerful tool to help us compare and understand things. @IRS_MEDIC But… Wife = individual human (at least for now lol) you choose Citizenship = legal status created by ephemeral political entity made by politicians, and imposed
@ParvizMalakouti Dual citizenship is a tool people use for global mobility; I am in favor of global mobility. But not dual citizenship as the tool. As no man can be loyal to two countries any more than he can be to two wives. And I don't care if the wives are cool with it. lol.

The US has created a "caste" citizenship of citizenship. #Dualcitizens from birth are a "preferred class" of citizens. Those born with ONLY US citizenship (like @TodaysDAR) are "untouchables".

Q. Why are #AccidentalAmericans preferred US citizens with a higher class of US citizenship? A. Most most have @dualcitizenship from birth and therefore can renounce (assuming tax compliance and residency requirements) without the 877A Exit Tax.
