This is easy. If they’re not attacking you, they’re just going about their life. If they show aggressiveness, yell something that rhymes with aloha snackbar, or are otherwise belligerent, then they’re are not your friend.
Funny how the 'freeze in fear' instinct disappears when those open carrying have a badge. Is it the gun that scares you, or the lack of a government costume? I bet she gets nervous at crosswalks, too. How could she possibly know if they're just driving or feeling murderous?!

Absolute truth. It was always a field trip for submariners. There was only “instruction” given if someone was a danger to themselves or others. It was a box to check. All that being said, I’m a firm believer that every branch should have legitimate, in depth, training.
This is where all you gun experts jump the shark. The average Sailor does not have a job that ever requires a sidearm. This is a qualification day that’s more of a hooyah event than anything else - a moral booster.

Just so we’re absolutely clear, this is what submariners look like shooting guns 🤣. You get locked in a tube for years and then, after standing mid watch, they take you into a think rarely seen. The blinding sun. Hand you a gun, and expect you to take it seriously 😁
